US-based Constellation Brands announced an investment of 1.5 billion dollars to build a new facility in the city of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.
The complex will have an initial production capacity of 10 million hectoliters to ascend to 20 million in the future.
In a statement, the company informed that the new complex will be ready in the next 4 to 5 years. The property is strategically located near the state of California, Constellation’s largest beer market.
Constellation Brands indicated that its plans to expand to 2.5 million hectoliters the Nava brewery, which will increase its production capacity from 25 to 27.5 million hectoliters.
It is estimated that the predicted cost of this project is around 250 million dollars and that will be completed by early 2018.
It should be recalled that in June from last year, the company announced an investment of more than 2 billion dollars, of which 1.650 million will cover the expansion of the brewery located in the municipality of Nava.
Constellation Brands is the third largest brewer in the U.S. and owns brands like: Corona Extra, Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo y Pacífico in the neighboring country.
